Bingo

So I see all of you with these bingo squares. How does one get one, how exactly does it work, and how long does one have to finish it?

This is a comm' over at Dreamwidth that offers prompts in form of a bingo card, for you to fill.
Here it is:

There are several comm' based on what kind of prompts you want. (Trope, slash, etc...) Personally I like the Gen one the best:

If you have DW account I recommend the following communities.

[community profile] allbingo They have no set times over all. There are monthly hosted themes but they are optional. I am co-hosting next moth for Winter Fest in July. It is all the stuff from December we don't have time for. They allow you to make your own cards with their card marker. They have pre set list or you can make your own prompts.

Another low key no timed bingo is[community profile] fanbingo. I love their cards.

I co mod at [community profile] trope_bingo. If a trope is fun to do once it will be fun to do a milllllion times ;)

Our next round will be opening next month.

The HC Bingo comm on LJ = http://hc-bingo.livejournal.com/

You can request a card here - http://hc-bingo.livejournal.com/287861.html

You have time until the beginning of January 2017 to make a bingo... if you can't make it, there is the so called amnesty period between January and June during which you have to post at least one fill, anything even if you don't have a bingo

There is also the Gen prompt bingo which I'm participating in, this one has almost zero rules and zero deadlines, you can take as much time as you want... and the best part is that only the prompts are GEN but you can make your fills as slashy as you want :D

You can request a card here: http://genprompt-bingo.dreamwidth.org/19759.html just read the introduction because to make things easier, you can request specific categories to be included or excluded, you can also request your card to be strictly a writer card - I requested mine to be an art card for obvious reason :D

It would be awesome if you'd get a card, I'm already going squee about new stories from you, hee :D

You've got a lot of great advice. Like K13, I love Gen Bingo, because of the flexibility in the rules and how prompts can be filled and pretty much the utter lack of any fixed timeframe. I somehow managed to get 24 out of 25 squares filled on my current Gen Bingo card, and am working on the 25th story now (which will be a long and meaty one).

The HC Bingo has a 500 word floor (minimum words per story) which is easily achievable. Idiots like me, who are both ambitious and prolific, try for blackouts, instead of single lines.

Thanks everyone! I have often have long gaps when i have no time to read or write so the lack of deadlines is very tempting. Thanks I'll check them all out!
