His mind was on display as she poured past, present, future. He could see the want through the ripples, the raw heat lurking within the eyes of the destined king. He gasped: Aragorn desired more from him than just a stewardship.

Fear at the sudden throb between his own legs, he willed the ache away, determined not to fall prey to the seduction he’d confused with camaraderie and budding trust.

He wiped at tears of shame and followed as she beckoned him from the mirror.

She smiled. Anduril’s lovesick owner was no match for the Lady of the Golden Wood.

what an intriguing comment. i'd never thought of it as fun or light, but rather... ominous. but after reading your feedback i see it could be taken an entirely different way. thank you.

Ouch! I really didn't mean to belittle the ominous currents, that is most obviously there, but I guess the sadistic part of me really liked the strong emotion Galadriel's revelations provoked from Boromir.

And please accept my pardons, as I see now how my comment was hasty and shallow. I do stand by the fact that your fic gave me a great thrill, but that does not reflect badly on you, rather the opposite.

oh my goodness - please, you have nothing to apologize for and your comment was refreshing. i love a puzzle and i love when fics can be interpreted in more than one way. thanks again!

There's a deal of menace here - where the Lady's power is laid bare. A very atmospheric scene.

the lady's power, yes. galadriel saw that any further involvement between the two men may lead to failure of the quest, so she had to act. menacing indeed. thank you.

Ooh. I generally tend to think of Galadriel as rather benevolent, but that little smile gave me a flash back to DarkSide!Galadriel, the facet that has power and wields it with relish. Poor Aragorn and Boromir - no match indeed. Excellent, resonant little piece.

I really like how the ending is almost open-ended. I can see the scene progressing in a couple of different ways and both intrigue me. Lovely job.

Oh, wow! This is amazing! Thank you so, so much! I love how... well, how dangerous and powerful Galadriel is here. I mean, we all know that the Elves are dangerous, but I don't think we see it played out as much as we might. I love that you've taken that moment where we assume she's showed Boromir his own fears about his worthiness and turned it on its head, so that she uses his fears around desire against him. ♥

Fear at the sudden throb between his own legs, he willed the ache away, determined not to fall prey to the seduction he’d confused with camaraderie and budding trust.
I love how here you've made it clear that Boromir too feels something, but without a natural progression in which it can slowly mature and play out, Galadriel's squashed it flat. I love how sure of herself she is, knowing exactly how to manipulate future events in order to work towards the success of the quest. It's amazingly sad and awe-inspiring, all at once, because you've very much painted her as the General she must have been.

How foreboding, the whole thing. *shivers* I love this so much, and I'm so honoured and flattered that you wrote it for me! ♥ Thank you so, so much! I'm so glad I know someone as kind and talented as you!

Got to be honest Galadriel scares the **** out of me. Poor Boromir and Aragorn being sent off on this slightly daft quest to destroy the ring. They should have stayed in bed at home for as the poem warns ...

"No knowledge can save you,
And no magic will save you.
For you will end up in Fenrir's belly,
While heaven and earth will burn
in Surt's unholy fire."

Doom of Odin from The Book of Heroes.
